Jacob Hauser, for forty-three years a resident of the Liscomb neighborhood and well known in the vicinity of that place and Albion, died at his home five miles north of Albion, this morning at 8:20 o’clock of old age and the complications brought on by his extreme years. He was 79 years of age and at the time of his death, resided on the farm upon which he settled when coming to Iowa. He had been in poor health for several weeks, but it had been only during the past few weeks that indications pointed to anything serious. Since then he had failed quite rapidly. Jacob Hauser was born in Warren county, Indiana, April 9, 1825, and September 11, 1845 was united in marriage to Miss Rebecca Arney, of Owen county, Indiana. He is survived by eight daughters and one son. They are Miss Martha Hauser, Mrs. Myra Fiscus, Mrs. Eliza Fiscus, Mrs. Harriet Hulett and Mrs. Almeda Bueghly, of near Albion and Liscomb; Mrs. Sarah Nichols, of Union county; Mrs. Marilda Denbow, of Green Mountain; Mrs. Helena Miller, of Zearing, and Mathias Hauser, of near Albion. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at the Bethel Grove church, and the interment will follow in the church burying ground.
