Death of Mrs. P. F. Arney

Marshalltown friends of Mr. Perry F. Arney, a business man of this city, will be sorry to learn of the death of his wife, which occurred at the family home in Albion at 5:30 o'clock Thursday evening. Mrs. Arney had been ill only about a week, with stomach trouble, and her death was not expected, and hardly anticipated, until noon Thursday, when she began to grow suddenly worse and lapse into unconsciousness. Mrs. Arney was one of the best known and most beloved women of Albion, popular in the social circles as well as the religious life of the village. She was the daughter of Jacob and Martha Crouse, old settlers of the county, the latter of whom are still living in Albion. Cora O. Crouse was born in Albion July 29, 1871 and has resided there during her entire life. She was married on July 8, 1891, and leaves four children, Wanda, aged 9; Bernice, aged 5; Mildred, aged 3 and Maxwell, aged 1. Besides her immediate family the deceased is survived by her aged mother, six sisters and four brothers. The sisters are Mrs. L. J. Graham, of Albion; Mrs. G. W. Mills, of Havelock; Mrs. J. W. Beckley, of Fresno, Cal.; Mrs. O. E. Stover, of Conrad; Mrs. J. S. Stover, of Havelock; Mrs. F. G. Houghton, of Albion; and the brothers Edwin S. and John E. Crouse of Salida, Col.; Rev. H. S. Crouse, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Rochelle, Ill. All of the brothers and sisters will be present at the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Beckley. Rev. Crouse came to Albion Wednesday on account of his sister's illness, and Charles A. Crouse, of Salida, will arrive in this city Saturday night.
