Corena Brown Dies; Rites Set

WEST LIBERTY --- Mrs. Corena Brown, 89, of 112 West Fifth street, died about 9 a.m. today in a nursing home here where shed had lived for four years. She had been an invalid for seven years. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Snider funeral home with the Rev. Elmer Baker, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born February 26, 1873, near Liscomb in Marshall county, the daughter of John and Mary Arney Hauser. On December 29, 1892, she was married to Alfred A. Brown at Liscomb and they came to West Liberty to farm. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Christian church and the Floral Culture society. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Roxie Nichols, and a son, Preston, both of West Liberty; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Five sisters and four brothers also preceded her in death.
