Former Bethel Grove Resident Is Summoned

Arthur George Nyce, a former resident of the Bethel Grove neighborhood died shortly before noon Monday at his home near Iowa Falls, following a heart attack, according to work received here Tuesday morning. Mr. Nyce had been in failing health for several years and had been obliged as a result to give up active farming but still lived on his farm. Mr. Nyce was a son of the late John and Mary Brown Nyce and was born in Cedar county, Sept. 8, 1877. The family came to Marshall county, settling in the Bethel Grove neighborhood in 1885. Mr. Nyce was married to Miss Roxie Hauser, daughter of the late George and Ann Hauser, of the same neighborhood, April 16, 1902. He engaged in farming and lived in the Bethel Grove community until he moved to Iowa Falls 28 years ago. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Bethel Grove for years, later becoming a member of that church at Iowa Falls. He is survived by the widow, a daughter, Miss Wilma Nyce, music supervisor in the Aurelia school; two sisters, Mrs. D. L. McKinnon of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. L. W. Hauser of Bethel Grove. He was an uncle of Earl H. Nyce and Miss Hazel Nyce of this city. Mrs. Nyce is a cousin of Joseph A. Whitacre, also of this city. A brother, Howard Nyce, died several years ago. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Iowa Falls Church of Christ in charge of the Rev. Mrs. Souers, pastor of the church. Preceding the funeral at the church, brief prayer services will be held at the home. Burial will be in the Liscomb cemetery.
