MRS. STARK DEAD AT 86

Mrs. Elijah STARK, 86, formerly of 504 North 2nd Ave., died at the Marshall County Hospital Tuesday morning where she had been a patient for the last seven years.

BORN DORA STRICKLAND Jan. 14, 1872, near Gilman she was the daughter of William and Sarah THOMPSON STRICKLAND. She received her education in the rural schools of that era and was graduated from the Gilman High School.

On Feb. 10, 1897, she was married to Elijah STARK. They farmed in the Gilman and Newberg area until coming to Marshalltown in 1918 where she had since made her home.

Mrs. STARK was a member of the First Methodist Church.

PRECEDING HER in death were her husband in 1947, two sisters and a brother.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank JENKINS of Dallas, Texas, one sister, Mrs. Charlotte GAUNT, 202 N. 4th Ave.; a niece, Mrs. Grayce CRAFT of Marshalltown and a nephew, Frank GAUNT of San Jose, CA.
