Old Settler of Liscomb Dies of Ailments Due to Old Age

John Henry Hauser, an old settler of the Liscomb neighborhood, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. H. Rolston, at Liscomb, Sunday morning at 3 o'clock, following a sickness of a few weeks. Death was due to infirmities of old age and lessening of mental vigor. Mr. Hauser had bee a resident of the county since 1864. He was born in Stoakes county, North Carolina, Oct. 5, 1821. When he was 1 year old his parents moved from North Carolina to Owen county, Indiana. On Aug 2, 1841, Mr. Hauser married Miss Anna E. Middleton in Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Hauser and family moved to Marshall county in September, 1864, and settled on a farm two and one-half miles southeast of Liscomb. Mrs. Hauser died twenty-four years ago. Six years ago M. Hauser left the farm and went to live at the Rolston home where he has resided since. Mr. and Mrs. Hauser were the parents of eight children, four of whom are dead. The surviving children are Mrs. S. H. Rolston and Mrs. Thursa A. Bixby, of Liscomb; George W. Hauser, of Gowrie; and Mrs. Martha A. Dinnel of Ainsworth, Neb. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Kate Weatherly, of Liscomb. Mr. Hauser united with a Christian church when he was young, and as long as his health permitted he was an acitve worker in the church. The funeral was held from the Christian church at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Burial was in the Liscomb cemetery.
