E.G. MAHONEY DIED AT HOME EARLY TUESDAY

Death Claims Local Man Following Stroke Suffered Recently

Edward G. Mahoney, who came to State Center about ten years ago to engage in the plumbing business, passed away at his home here Tuesday morning at 5:45, after having suffered a stroke a couple of weeks ago.

Edward George Mahoney was born at Wyckoff, Minn., on October 13, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mahoney. In 1884, after the death of his father, the family moved to Boyden, where Mr. Mahoney was united in marriage to Miss Virgie B. Harman in 1902. They came to State Center from Boyden about ten years ago and for a time Mr. Mahoney was associated with the McMahon & Sons hardware store before engaging in his plumbing business for himself.

He is survived by his widow and four children, Mrs. Ronald E. Ellis of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Howard Verrips of Sibley, Mildred and Francis at home, and by his stepfather, F.L. Stockweather and a half sister, Mrs. George Mlazgar, also of Boyden.

Funeral services were held from the Brimhall-West funeral home this morning at 10:00 o'clock and the body was taken to the old home at Boyden for burial.
