JAMES RAINEY SERVICES HELD

James Rainey, 77, a resident of Leisure Homes in LeGrand, died Saturday evening, Jan. 12, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Chapel in Marshalltown, with burial in the Prairie View Cemetery, Gilman.

The son of James and Mary Mairs Rainey, he was born Sept. 30, 1907, in County Antrum, Ireland. He was married to Margaret Heath on Dec. 7, 1945, in Albert Lea, Minn.

After living in Pine Bluffs, Wyo., for 30 years, where he was self-employed, he moved to LeGrand where he made his home for five years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Ronald of Marshalltown, Sharon Koepneck of LeGrand and Patricia Halckiskick of Scottsdale, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
