MRS. L. B. TUCKER DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Mrs. Nellie E. Tucker, wife of L. B. Tucker, 106 North Seventh street, widely known in Grundy, Hardin and Marshall counties passed away at 12:10 this afternoon of heart disease. Although she had been in failing health the past two months, she had not been confined to her bed. Mrs. Tucker was born in Grundy county April 4, 1868. Shortly after her birth the family moved to a farm northwest of Liscomb. For three years she was engaged as a teacher in the school two and a half miles northwest of Whitten. She was married June 21, 1899 to L. B. Tucker of Eldora. Mr. and Mrs. Tucker made their home in Eldora until 1910 when they moved to Colorado, making their home at Kersey and Platteville and remaining until 1920, when they returned to Iowa to settle in Liscomb. After seven years residence in Liscomb, they came to Marshalltown in 1927. Mrs. Tucker had been a lifelong member of the Christian church and had been very active in church affairs. She was a member of the missionary society and the ladies aid society and she had been a teach of Sunday school classes since she was 15 years old. Surviving are Mr. Tucker, three sons, George B. and Robert L. Tucker, city, and Carlton A. Tucker, Gilcrest, Col; her mother, Mrs. Jennie Lockard, city, and a brother, T. E. Lockard, city. Arrangements for the funeral had not been completed this afternoon. The body will be at he Pursel funeral home until the time for the services.

The funeral of Mrs. Nellie E. Tucker, wife of L. B. Tucker, who died shortly after noon Friday at her home, 106 North Seventh Street, will be held at 10 o'clock Monday from Central Church of Christ, in charge of the pastor, Rev. P. G. Dennis. Burial will follow in the Hauser cemetery, west of Whitten.

FUNERAL FOR MRS. NELLIE E. TUCKER

The funeral of Mrs. Nellie E. Tucker, wife of L. B. Tucker, who died Saturday at her home, was held at 10 o'clock Monday morning from the Central Church of Christ, in charge of pastor, Rev. P. G. Dennis. Burial was in the Hauser cemetery, west of Whitten, at 11 o'clock this morning. The pallbearers were Ralph McCague, Floyd Stubbs, Harold Woodward, George Perfect, Eldon Anderson, and Clyde Laird. Relatives from a distance in attendance at the service were a son, Carleton A. Tucker, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lockard and family, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Hauser, Mrs. E. B. Arney, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hauser, Lloyd Hauser, Mrs. N. O. Hauser, Mr. and Mrs. John Clark, and Mrs. C. L. Mabie, all of Whitten; E. D. Herron and daughter Harriet, Ira Lockard and daughter, Mrs. Ethel Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Rowan and family, Mrs. Tom Madole and Mrs. George Hauser and family, all of Union, and Mrs. Harold Galloway, Liscomb.
