Wilma Harriet Huff, 81, of Marshalltown, died February 10, 2009, at MMSC. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Inichement will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. Wilma was born on October 9, 1927, in Roland, Iowa. She was the daughter of Floyd and Mabel (Beal) Ballard. She attended Maxwell High School. On June 9, 1945, Wilma married Bill Huff in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple lived in Marshalltown until their retirement, and then retired to Clinton, Arkansas, for 5 years, returning to Marshalltown after that. Wilma did sewing for Scott Tent and Awning and then was employed as the office manager for Marshall Lumber. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes, and she was known for her banana cream pie, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate candy. She also enjoyed canning and sewing, gardening, and adored her grandchildren. Wilma will be missed by her husband of over 63 years, Bill, of Marshalltown; her children, Randy (Janice) Huff of Tama, Glenna (Jim) Wickersham of Rhodes, Van (Donna) Huff of Marshalltown, and Jana (Jim) Sawtelle of North Mankato, MN; her 10 grandchildren; her 6 great-grandchildren; her sister, Arlene Furrow of Beeville, TX; and several nieces and nephews.In death, she has rejoined her parents, her brother, Floyd Ballard Jr, and her sister, Gladys Friest.
