Jill (Mrs. Robert) Franklin, 56, of Woodbridge, VA., died Tuesday, February 17th, at her home. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23rd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with burial immediately following at the Riverside Cemetery. Born Jill Louise Nash on April 26th, 1952, in Grundy Center, Iowa, she was the daughter of John Daniel “Danny” and Twyla Ruth (Redman) Nash. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1970 and Iowa State University in 1981. In May of 1972, she was united in marriage to Robert Franklin. To this union, two children were born- Christine and Julia. Mrs. Franklin was employed as a social worker by Prince William County, Woodbridge, VA, and was admired by her co-workers and clients. She loved her job, treasured her family, and enjoyed traveling the world. Jill was employed in Germany and Belgium during her careers and will be sorely missed by many. Left to cherish her memory are Robert, her loving husband of 36 years, her daughters Christine Ashley and Julia Meyers and grandson Joshua Ashley, all of Virginia, her sister Janice (Ron) Galla-Rini of California, brother John (Shirley) Nash of Ottumwa, her sister-in-law Georgia Nash of Marshalltown, her aunts Dorothy Gerdtz of Oklahoma and Alice Kiniken of California, her mother, Ruth Nash, of Marshalltown, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In death she has rejoined her father, Danny, her brother, Gary Nash, and her grandparents.
