Mrs. Wall Dead at 66; Rites Set

Gwendolyn (Mrs. Dayle) Wall, 66, of 611 S. 9th St., died Sunday morning at her home. Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of Pursel-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phil King officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour.

She was born March 10, 1919, in Kellogg, the daughter of James Thomas Adkins & Clara Jane Ralls Adkins. On June 8, 1940, in Lancaster, Missouri, she was married to Dayle Wall. He survives as do 3 sons: Gary Wall of Laurel, Jim Wall and Tom Wall, both of Marshalltown, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are 8 brothers and sisters: Max Adkins; Mary (Mrs. Wayne) Elsberry; Ray Adkins and Joann (Mrs. Albert) Wall, all of Marshalltown; Bill Adkins, Gilman; Deb Adkins, Eldon, Missouri; Adeline (Mrs. Fred) Holthousen, Texas City, Texas; and Tom Adkins, Ankeny. She was preceded in death by an infant son, a sister and her parents.

Mrs. Wall was reared and educated in Marshall County, graduating from Dunbar School. She later graduated from Iowa State Teachers college in Cedar Falls and taught in area schools until retiring in 1982. She also did custodial work in the school system. She was a member of the First Friends Church.

Friends may call at Pursel-Davis from 11 a.m. Wednesday until service time.

Mrs. Wall Buried in Maple Hill Cemetery

Services for Gwendolyn E. Wall, 66, 511 S. 9th St., who died Sunday at her home, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Pursel-Davis Chapel, the Rev. Philip King of First Friends Church in charge. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Montour.

Active bearers were Bob Wall, Kenny Wall, Mark Elsberry, Don Adkins, Jim Adkins and Dick Adkins. Honorary bearers were Brian Wall, Brett Wall, John Elsberry, Jay Adkins, Kim Holthousen, Steve Adkins, Dan Adkins, Clair Wall, Joel Cagwin, Davis Cagwin and Dean Cagwin.
