James Cagwin, 90

James Cagwin, 90, of 2401 S. Second St., Marshalltown, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Villa del Sol Health Center in Marshalltown.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22 at Pursel Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Pursel Davis Funeral Home and Crematory, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Villa del Sol Health Center or the Iowa River Hospice. James Cagwin was born on March 5, 1914 in Cresco, Iowa, the son of Delmar and Mary Chin Cagwin. He was a 1931 graduate of Marshalltown High School. He was united in marriage with Doris Jean Adkins. James and Doris were members of the Minerva Valley Methodist Church. James was a dairy farmer all of his life, retiring in 1970. He then chose to do custodial work for the West Marshall Schools retiring in 1976. He was an avid reader and sports enthusiast.

James Cagwin is survived by: son: David (Mardy) Cagwin of Kalona, Iowa; son: Dean Cagwin of Perris, California; daughter: Mary (Mike) Twaddle of Dallas, Texas; son: Joel (Lu Ann) Cagwin of Wexford, Pennsylvania. 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren as well as one sister: Vera Nelson.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, one brother: Donald Cagwin, one sister: Eleanor Long and 2 grandchildren: Kevin and Jacqueline Cagwin.
