Services Monday

Services for James T. Adkins, 71, Gilman, who died at his home Thursday will be from the chapel of Estel Purrin Funeral Home at 1:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Norman Kauble, pastor of Gilman Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Adkins was born on October 15, 1892 near Kellogg, the son of Calvin & Emma Antle Adkins. He recived his education in the Kellogg and Laurel areas.

On October 23, 1912, in Marshalltown he was married to Clare Jane Ralls. They farmed in Marshall County until retiring in Gilman in 1959.

Mr. Adkins was a birthright member of the Friends Church and in recent years had attended the Gilman Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.

Surviving are his widow and 10 children: Max, Mrs. Wayne Eisberry; Mrs. Davie Wall; Ray; James A.; and Mrs. Albert Wall all of Marshalltown; Tom route 4; William, Gilman; Mrs. Ted Holthusen, Texas City, Texas; and Mrs. James Cagwin of St. Anthony. Also, surviving are 33 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers: Russell, Route 4; Calvin, Marshalltown; Mrs. Jess Alexander Toledo and Mrs. Lloyd Mills, Denver, Denver County, Colorado.
