Kenneth William Anderson was born on Wednesday; July 14, 1915 in Chicago; Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of: William and Ester (Satterfield) Anderson. Kenneth grew up in South Bend; Saint Joseph County, Indiana and Eldora; Hardin County, Iowa. He attended Eldora High School and graduated in 1933. On Thursday; October 3, 1940, he was united in marriage to Florence Burmester at the Little Brown Church in The Vale in Nashua; Chickasaw County, Iowa. He was employed at the CCC Pine Lake Dam Project, the Iowa Veterans Home and Fishers, where he retired in 1974 after 36 years of service. Ken was a member of the local Marshalltown Evening Lions Club and an officer of First United Church of Christ in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. As a hobby, Ken enjoyed photography and spending time with his grandchildren. Kenneth William Anderson, age 93, passed away on Friday; December 12, 2008 at the Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown, Iowa while under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Those left to mourn his passing are: His two sons: Donald Anderson of Marshalltown, Iowa and Ronald (Keitha) Anderson of Springfield; Greene County, Missouri. His eight grandchildren: Scott Anderson of Marshalltown, Iowa. Debbie (Mike) Jaeger of Lamoni; Decatur County, Iowa. Susan (Shea) Mears of Urbandale; Polk County, Iowa. Nikki (Justin) Donathan of Vancouver; Clark County, Washington. Kendra (Eric) Zadnik of Waco; McLennan County, Texas. Jason Anderson of Atlanta; Fulton County, Georgia and Stacey & Tracy Lobdel. His twelve great-grandchildren and his two great-great-grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his wife: Florence in 1995; his great-granddaughter: Cassie and his great-grandson: Kenneth. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday; December 15, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday; December 16, 2008 at the First United Church of Christ, with Pastor Kim Wilson officiating. Interment will be at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton; Franklin County, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ken's name and honor may be directed to First United Church of Christ and Iowa River Hospice. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website.
