Obituary for Miss Asenath Carter

Miss Asenath Carter, aged 60 years died Monday at her home in Albion after a short illness with Brights disease. Miss Carter was a woman of fine Christian character, and as an old settler of the County had many friends, especially in Iowa Township, where she has resided for the past 38 years. Besides the sisters with whom she lived, Miss Anna and Miss Susannah Carter, the deceased leaves three sisters and two brothers. The sisters are Mesdames Daniel, Thomas and Philip Collins, all of whom live in the vicinity of Green Mountain, and the brothers are Messrs Asa and Abel Carter. The former lives in Jewell Co. Kansas, but the residence of the latter is not known. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Friends Church in Albion. Rev. Isom P. Wooten of this city officiating.

Note: Her birth date is January 10, 1840 and she died on May 28, 1900. She is buried in the Albion Cemetery and after they came to Marshall County they always lived in the Albion vicinity. Bright's disease is a historical classification of kidney diseases.
