Fred Kline Dies At State Center
State Center Special Fred Kline, 76, died at the Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown at 12:25 a.m. Saturday after an illness of uremic poisoning. He underwent an operation five weeks ago.
Mr. Kline was born Aug. 27, 1861 at Freeport, ILL. and came to Iowa with his parents when he was 6 years old, living near Newton. He married Miss Minnie Koppin at Newton in 1888 and they had two daughters, now Mrs. R. K. Cumming of Chicago, ILL., and Mrs. R. H. Hadly of Pittsford, Mich.
The first Mrs. Kline died about 28 years ago and he married Minnie Cook at Newton March 21, 1911. They lived at Melbourne nine years and came to State Center in 1926. He lived here and on a farm for the last 12 years.
Besides his widow and two daughters he is survived by two adopted children, John and Iva of State Center; a brother, Charles Klein of Newton, and a sister Mrs. Louise Illingsworth of Newton. A son, Ivan, died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the home and at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Both services will be in charge of Rev. H. P. Kumpf and burial will be in the Melbourne Cemetery.

Additions: Freidrich Friedemann Klein, the son of Johann Jacob Friedemann and Johanne Wilhelmine Louise (Koethe) Klein.
