Judy (Zika) Kascoutas, devoted mother of Brandon Bennett, Jill DeWitt, Blair Bennett and Anne Wright, loving grandmother to six wonderful grandchildren and protective sister to Gary Zika was taken from her family in a tragic car accident on Sunday, June 1, 2008. Her life was filled with the joy of helping others. She began her career as a nurse and through hard work and many years of education became a physician's assistant. Judy was a lifelong scholar whose love of learning and the outdoors was obvious to all who met her. Her insatiable thirst for knowledge led her to all parts of the world and many great and varied experiences. She was not only dedicated to helping family, friends, Midge and anyone in need, but was an avid animal lover and a contributor to the ASPCA. Judy was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 12, 1941 to Frank and Leatha Zika. Her life will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Iles Funeral Homes – Dunn's Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her honor at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
