PETERSON RITES TO BE MONDAY AT PURSEL CHAPEL

Russell J. Peterson, 71, 7155 12th St., longtime Marshall County resident, died Thursday enroute to Marshalltown Area Community Hospital East.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Pursel-Davis Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 9, 1903, in Garwin, the son of John J. and Minnie Baumbach Peterson. He married Marjorie Peters on March 23, 1933, in Morrison, Ill.

Surviving besides his widow are three children, Richard R. of Oelwein, Ronald M., Ames, and Kay Peterson of Marshalltown. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Priddel of San Diego, Calif.; and Mildred Peterson also of San Diego. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Mr. Peterson was reared in Marshall County and educated in the Green Mountain schools. He lived his entire life in Marshall County, and was employed by the Iowa Highway Commission until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
