Myrtle Nason Dies At Age 77
Myrtle G. Nason, 77, 405 Edgeland Drive, died Tuesday, 21 June 1983, at Villa Del Sol Nursing Home.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Pursel Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Miller-Todd and the Rev. Mary Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Nason was born in Melbourne, March 13, 1905, the daughter of August and Mathilda Gauch Petermeier. She was married to Lawerence Nason Sept. 29, 1926, in Mason City, and he died in June 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Vogt, rural Melbourne; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers and a sister; Raymond and Harvey Petermeier, both of Melbourne and Irene Dreyer, Hubbard. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Mrs. Nason was reared and educated in Melbourne and was graduated form Melbourne High School and she attended Iowa State Teachers College and taught school in rural Jasper County for two years. The Nasons farmed in the Van Cleve area until 1955 when they moved to Marshalltown.
Mrs. Nason wwas a member of the First Congregational Church and that church's Women's Fellowship and Evening Circle, as well as the Women's Relief Corps. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, belonging both to the Melbourne and Marshalltown chapters. A past worthy matron, she belonged to the Past Worthy Matrons Club.
