Arlene F. (Cooper) Shaffer, 86 of Layton, UT, formerly of Marshalltown, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Davis Medical Center in Layton, UT. Graveside funeral services and burial will be held at 1 pm Thursday, May 8th at the Woodland Cemetery, Lynnville, IA. Visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon on Thursday at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences may be sent to Arlene’s family at www.vogelfuneralhomes.com.
Arlene was born on November 16, 1921 in Marshalltown, the daughter of Wesley and Grace (Gilgen) Cooper. She grew up in Marshalltown and received her education in the public schools. She married Keith M. Shaffer and the couple lived in Marshalltown before moving to San Bernardino, CA and later to Layton, UT. Arlene was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother.
She will be missed by her two sons, Darrell Shaffer of West Jordan, UT and Curtis Shaffer of Layton, UT; sister, Betty Mahoney; two brothers: Delbert and Keith Cooper; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In eternal life, Arlene joins her parents, her husband, Keith (April 1991) and her sister, Helen Brush.
