Brett Nissen, 22, of Marshalltown, died Thursday evening, May 1st, 2008 near State Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7th, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Gregg Davison officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. His family and friends are invited to drive their motorcycles in his procession leaving from the church. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials to his daughter, Addisen’s college fund, at the Home Federal Savings Bank. Born on April 17th, 1986, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Greg and Vickie Nissen. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 2004. Upon graduation, he moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he was employed by Shuck and Sons Construction Company. On July 1, 2006, his daughter Addisen was born. In November of 2007, Brett returned to Marshalltown where he was employed with Morton Buildings. On December 23rd, 2007, he became engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Brittney Ellis. Brett enjoyed riding his Harley, weightlifting, fishing and following the Hawkeyes and Braves. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all of them. Left to celebrate his life are his mother Vickie Nissen, his fiancée Brittney Ellis and daughter Addisen, his brother Eric (Haley), nephew Ethan and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Greg Nissen, last May.
