Dale Marvin Bollhoefer, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness. Services will be private. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids on Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM.
Surviving in addition to his wife Grace are two daughters, Connie L. Brown and Judy K. Howard (Terry Boyle)both of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Penny Franck (Larry), Rick Brown (Sharyn), Alan Tesar (Treva) and Christopher Tesar, eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a son-in-law, Neal P. Brown.
Dale was born May 11, 1923 in Jasper County the son of Fred C. and Ella (Klein) Bollhoefer. He married Grace L. Stribling on December 1, 1943 in Cedar Rapids. Dale worked for Rockwell Collins as an electronics technician for 30 years and also worked for ARA Services as a route mechanic for 18 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Dale was a lifetime member of the American Legion of Hanford Post #5 and a lifetime member of the American Rifleman's Association.
