Dorothy H. (Brodbeck) Koehler, 98 of Melbourne entered into eternal life Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Villa Del Sol Health Care Center in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, February 14, at St John United Church of Christ in Melbourne. Burial will be held at 3 pm Friday at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sheboygan, WI. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1 pm until service time at the church. In lieu of Flowers, her family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to the Lakland Clloege, P.O. Box 359, Sheboygan, WI 53082-0359. Born on November 17, 1909 in Milwaukee, WI, Dorothy was the daughter of Jeremiah and Clara (Brodbeck) Keeler. She was raised and educated in Milwaukee and received her Master’s Degree in Education at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. On June 28, 1939, she was united in marriage to Clarence Koehler. The couple lived in Wheatland, IA for 12 years before moving to Sheboygan, WI area where Dorothy was an elementary and secondary teacher for 28 years. She moved to Melbourne, IA in 1990.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, the National Education Association and Affiliates, the American Association of University Women, the Business and Professional Women, the International Reading Association, Lakeland College Auxiliary and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
She will be missed by her four daughters: Dorothy (Al) Curry of Placitas, NM, Barbara Lavallee of Anchorage, Alaska, Mary (Larry) Wulke of Melbourne and Ruth (Carl) Mueller of Los Lunas, NM; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren and 3 step, great, great grandchildren.
In eternal life, Dorothy joins her parents and her husband Clarence.
