Clarence E Johnson, 83, 1 W Grnt Street, died Thursday at the University Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m, at the Iowa River Church of the Brethren Cemetery, and Avey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 22, 1895, in Calendar, a son of James and Ida Belle Wintes Johnson He was married Jan 31, 1972 in Gladbrook to Lottie Haynes, and she survivies.
He was on the Marshalltown Police Department for many years, retiring more than 30 years ago
Survivors, besides his widow include on son Clarence J. Johnson, Estherville, a sister, Estella Jagan, Marshalltown, a grandson, and seveal nieces and nephews.
