Stanley M. Sebetka, Jr., age 69 of Marshalltown, entered into eternal life Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 8, at the chapel of the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Wencelaus Cemetery, rural Clutier, IA. Public visitation will be held Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established.
Born on February 1, 1939 in Tama County, Stan was the son of Stanley, Sr. and Lucille (Sevcik) Sebetka. He grew up in the area of his birth and graduated from the Toledo High School. He honorably served our country in the Army Reserves. On May 7, 1960, he was united in marriage to Donna Werner and the couple later divorced. Stan had been employed by the Bell Telephone Company and later at the Marshalltown Fire Department. More recently, he was employed at Fisher Controls and as a real estate agent for Ed Meade Realty. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church.
He will be missed by a son, Douglas Sebetka and a daughter, Renee Mathews, both of Marshalltown; three grandchildren: Tyler, Alyssa and Olyvia Mathews; and his sister, Monica Funke of West Des Moines.
In eternal life, Stan joins his parents; sister, Angie Collins; brother, Lawrence; infant brother, Maurice and an infant granddaughter, Bailey Mathews.
