L. Delores (Dunn) Billman, 75, of State Center, died Saturday, February 2nd, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with Rev. Jeffrey R. Frese of the State Center United Methodist Church officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born Laura Delores Dunn on June 5th, 1932, at Hawleyville near Clarinda, Iowa, she was the third of seven children born to Francis Miller and Mildred Merl (Schaffer) Dunn. She received her education in the Olive Branch Country Schools and graduated from the Clarinda High School’s Class of 1950. She received her teacher’s certificate from Maryville, MO. On May 5th, 1962, she was united in marriage to Ronald Billman in State Center at the Methodist Church. They resided all of their married lives in the State Center area where she was a teacher at West Marshall in State Center and the Clemons buildings. Delores later was a CNA and Med-Aid at the State Center Manor until her retirement. She was a member of the State Center United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women (UMW). Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 45 years, Ronald who resides at the Iowa Veterans Home, her five children: Barb Patterson of Gilman, Mark (Lisa) Billman of Plymouth, MN., Denise (John) Levings of Marshalltown, Rene (Carl) Norman of State Center and Christine Blue of Melbourne, four step-children: Jeanette (Tom) Bower of Ankeny, Dave (Linda) Billman of Marshalltown, Diane Radloff of Bettendorf and Ron (Sue) Billman of State Center, 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her siblings: Phyllis Fulk of Clarinda, Frances Koenigsberg of Sheffield, Iowa, Charlene Stokes of Paragould, Arkansas, George Dunn of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Charles Dunn of Lincoln, NE. and Jim Dunn of Clarinda, her aunts Lucille Shaffer of Kansas City and Helen Fulk of Pleasant Hill, several nieces, nephews and a host off friends. In death she has rejoined her parents and nephew, Eddie Fulk.
