Born on November 17, 1917, in Garwin, Iowa, Vera is the daughter of Charles C. and Emma (Wiese) Frahm. She was raised and educated in Garwin. She was married to Clarence R. Hale on February 10, 1937, who preceded her in death in 1942. She married Homer W. Cutshall on January 2, 1947, in Traer, Iowa. They farmed north of Toledo from 1948-1967, where she raised her family, tended a large garden, raised thousands of chickens through the years, and was active in her church. They retired from farming and moved to Marshalltown in 1967. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Marshalltown and her life continued to revolve around her church and family. She was a devoted homemaker and really enjoyed hosting family birthday and holiday celebrations. She moved to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, in June of 2002, to be near one of her daughters. She resided at Sweetgrass Village Assisted Living where she made many friends and remained actively involved in numerous activities. She was such a blessing and inspiration to her family and all of her friends and she shall be greatly missed.
