Casey Joe Johnson, 27, of 105 North 9th Street, died early Sunday morning, February 26th, at his home.
Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2nd, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 703 South 12th Street. Burial will be in the Rose Hill memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1st, from 6-8:00 p.m.. They are in charge of the arrangements.
Casey Joe Johnson was born August 30th, 1978, at Iowa City to Joseph and Debbie (Hutcheson) Johnson. He attended the Marshalltown Schools. He received his GED and was baptized by immersion while living in Minnesota several years. He was employed in construction and recently was employed at Swift and Company in the maintenance department.
He is survived by his daughter, Tara Bailey of Detroit Lakes, MN., his mother Debbie Johnson of Conrad, his father Joseph (step-mother Margaret) Johnson of Toledo, two brothers; Cory (Jennifer) of Wendell, MN., and Ryan (Thrina) of Honolulu, HI, a sister Emily (Adam Gorsuch) Johnson of Marshalltown and grandparents Cecil and Charlotte Hutcheson of Marshalltown.
Also surviving are his fiancé Rosanna Buchanan and her son Jace Buchanan of Marshalltown, also nieces, nephews and his uncles and aunts.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Virginia Johnson and his great-grandparents.
Casey was a caring and fun-loving young man. He was very family oriented. He and Rosanna were planning their wedding and he was a loving father to Tara and Jace. One of his greatest enjoyments was fishing and he loved to be outdoors.
