Hi Kris....this info. is from my "1881 Marion County History" book....
Clay Township...
Beaver, Mrs. Naomi..Farmer, Sec. 7, P.O. Durham. Her maiden name was Naomi Wilson, and she was born in Knox County, Kentucky, September 5, 1811, where she lived four years, then moved with her parents to Madison County, where they lived a short time, and thence to Bath County where they lived until she was ten years of age. They returned to Madison County and there resided five years, and moved to Morgan County, Indiana, where they lived until she was twenty-five years of age. They came to Fulton County, Illinois, and remained there until 1852, when she came with her husband to Marion County, Iowa, and settled on their present place. Mrs. B. now owns ninety-five acres of well improved farming land. She was married to Elias Beaver(who was born October 30, 1799, in Virginia), July 25, 1839. They have had seven children: James A., Samuel L., Nancy J., Sophronia, Franklin C., Sarah E., Joseph W. Jas. A. was born June 1, 1840. He enlisted in Company A, Third Iowa Infantry in August, 1862. He received a wound at the battle of Helena and was taken to Memphis, Tennessee, where he died August 17, 1863. Samuel L. enlisted in Company K, Seventh Iowa Cavalry, and served three months, and had an honorable discharge at the close of the war. Mary J. died July 31, 1846. Mr Beaver departed this life August 31, 1865.This was the paragraph in my book....no mention of what side the R.R. tracks were on. If you would like..(e-mail me a reminder so I don't forget)...I could check the Knoxville Courthouse for the plat...I'm pretty sure they have one since Knoxville is the county seat....might be just awhile before I get back down there but would be glad to check......Sue
