I highly recommend you get your hands on a copy of the book "Pothoven People: to God be the Glory..Great Things he Hath Done" by Doris Haven.
This book tells the story of the Otto Pothoven family. You can look at a copy by ordering on microfilm at any Family History Center of the Mormon Church. Look at www.familysearch.org for more details.

You can also call Duane and Mary Pothoven of Pella, Iowa as they assisted Doris Haven (now deceased) in this effort.
