The family of A. A. Garrison age 49 and wife Elizabeth J. Garrison (age 55) were in the 1880 census of Wapello County, Iowa. At the time they had living with them daughters Minerva age 27, Rachel age 20, Sarah A. age 16, Mary M. age 10; and a granddaughter, Emma M. age 1. Also with them was Charles F. Garrison, age 56, listed as a brother with occupation "at home." One wonders if he was ill or handicapped, since otherwise he surely would have been working on the farm with his brother.

There is a RootsWeb entry for this family listing Mary as "Mary Margaret."

Elizabeth Jane McClain Garrison was sister to my gr-gr-grandfather, William Jackson McClain, born in 1823.
