I found her in the 1860 census in Lake Prairie Township (p. 629). The household consists of
Maaike Verhoef, F, age 37, b NL
Grietje, F, age 11, b NL
Govert, M, age 10, b NL
Annigje, F, age 8, b NL
Hannes, M, age 7, b NL
Adriana, F, age 3, b Iowa
(I think I've read the writing accurately, but I'm not sure about "Govert."

I didn't find her or the other members of the family in the 1870 census, but perhaps her mother had remarried by then. There are very few Verhoef(f)s in the Marion County census indexes, so perhaps some of the others are relatives.

You might want to go to the Lookup page on the Marion County web site. There are a couple of volunteers listed there who do lookups in the Pella area.
