Rufus R. Jones, age 36, born TN, and his wife Louisiana, age 32, born VA, are in the 1850 Marion County census. Living with them are Nancy Ann, age 22, Harriet, age 11, Martha, age 9, Mary, age 6, Eliza, age 4, all born Indiana; and Austin R., age 2, born Iowa.

According to Indiana Marriages before 1850, Rufus Robert Jones married Lucy Ann Harris in Bartholomew Co, Indiana, on the 17 April 1839.

I found an Austin Harris, age 55, born Indiana, living in Marion County in 1850. His wife Mary is 29, born Indiana, and their children are Jasper, age 11, Sarah, age 6, Louisiana, age 4, all born in Indiana, and Austin M.D., age 2, born in Illinois. It's hard to read the name of the girl that I think is Louisiana, but the coincidence of the name Austin in both families and maybe the name Louisiana suggests that Austin, age 55, may be Lucy Jones' father. Could Nancy Ann be Lucy's sister? She's too old to be Rufus and Lucy's daughter. Some possibilities for you to explore...
