KARR, BROUSE FAMILIES

KARR, CARR, BROUSE, BLAASE, PENSYL, SCHMIDT, MONTGOMERY, MCWILLIAMS

Thomas and Mary MONTGOMERY KARR came from Highland and Ross Counties, Ohio to Marion County Iowa in the 1840's. They settled along the east side of the Des Moines river purchasing land in Marion County and as soon as settlement opened to the west moved across into Warren County. They appear on the 1850 census in Warren County. Nearby neighbors in Warren and Marion Counties that seem to be their children are John and wife, Sarah KARR; Marab KARR who married John H SCHMIDT in 1866 Iowa; Hiram C KARR and wife Sarah Pensyl KARR; Thomas KARR and wife Sarah MCWILLIAMS; Humphrey M KARR; Andrew KARR and wife Rebecca; and perhaps Tabitha KARR who married Andrew BLAASE in 1863 in Iowa.

We do not know what happened to Thomas KARR, SR. His wife, Mary was living in the James BROUSE household in Marion Co Iowa in 1860, and she is gone by the 1870 census. Sons Hiram C and Thomas KARR both moved to Kansas. Would like to find other descendants of any of this family.

There is another family of KARR's who seem to have come from Pennsylvania, through Indiana. Is there a relationship to this family?
