Louise Nettie Ward was born on Nov. 10, 1915, in Lansing, Mich. to Vernon L. Brower and Cosy M. (Otis) Brower.

At the age of two, Louise's family moved to California. She graduated from Sweetwater Union High School in Nashua City, Calif.

On Oct. 8, 1934, she married Marce Ward in Yuma, Ariz. They had two sons, Vernon and Thomas. The Ward family lived in many locations, following Marce's naval career. Following retirement the couple lived in Crystal River, Fla. for 20 years. Louise moved to Knoxville after Marce's death in November of 2000.

Louise passed died on Sept. 6, at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 89.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marce and two sons, Thomas and Vernon.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen Roberts and Frances Caswell; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and other family members and friends.

A memorial service was held at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home on Sept. 10 with Rev. Art Hill officiating.

Interment was in Lincoln Cemetery in rural Knoxville.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville.
