Bill Schrader died July 27 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services were July 30 at St. John Lutheran Church in Melcher-Dallas with burial in the Dallas Cemetery.

Bill was born to Sylvester and Verl Lancaster Schrader on March 10, 1934. He was married to Mary L. Agan on May 17, 1953, in Pleasantville.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Gwen (Tom) Tyler and Madonna (John) Kadera both of Dallas; five grandchildren all of Dallas; two step-grandchildren of Des Moines; two step great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Glen) Allbee of Des Moines; a brother, Larry (Lorretta) Schrader of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.

Bill's heart was always in farming and farmed all his married life. He had also worked for Ford, Maytag and John Deere. Bill and his father had Schrader Construction an earth moving company building terraces, ponds and the lake at Truro. One of his last projects was to dig the basements for his two daughters' homes.
