Mrs. Elizabeth Jacoba Brouwer, 87 of Pella died Sunday, Aug. 19,2001 at the Pella Regional Health Center.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Trinity Reformed Church in Pella with burial in Graceland Cemetery in Pella. Visitation will begin after 3 p.m. Monday with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. Memorials may be made to Hope Ministries (Bethel and Door of Faith Missions of Des Moines).

Elizabeth Van Zanten Brouwer was born north of Pella on April 11, 1914. She lived all of her life in Jasper and Marion counties.

On March 3, 1936 She married Raymond Brouwer in Prairie City. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Reformed Church She enjoyed doing handwork, especially crocheting.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Ruth and Larry Kuiper of Otley; one granddaughter; Beth Barber of Pella; one great-grandson, Andrew Barber of Pella; two half-brothers, Ray and Ben Van Zanten, both of California; one step-brother, Richard Sukkel of Monroe and one step-sister, Henrietta Poortinga of Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-parents, her husband, Raymond Brouwer and a half-brother Albert Van Zanten.
