PELLA - Christine Van Der Molen, 83, of Pella, died Monday, Sept. 10, at Pella Regional Health Center.

Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella, the Rev. Thomas R. Dykstra and the Rev. Sheldon Starkenburg officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Pella. Memorials: Pella Christian High School or Hospice of Pella. Visiting hours begin Thursday morning at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella and continue until 4 p.m. The family will greet visitors 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Christina Struik was born May 3, 1918, in Sully to Johannes and Fytje (Sophia) Stam Struik. She graduated from Sully Christian Grade School in 1932 and attended Sully Christian Reformed Church.

On Jan. 18, 1940, she married Bennie (Ben) Van Der Molen in Sully. She did housework for various people at an early age. Following their marriage, she and Ben farmed west of Peoria, and attended Peoria Christian Reformed Church. She was a homemaker and mother.

In 1971 they moved into Pella. Ben died March 3, 1991. On Sept. 2, 2001, Christine was admitted to Pella Regional Health Center. She was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella. She enjoyed doing needlework, reading and watching television.

She is survived by her children and spouses: Marty and Betty Schuring Vander Molen of Sully, Vi and Larry Engbers of Pella, Judy and Arvin Kelderman of Pella, Rita and Donald Van Maanen of Pella, Byron and Joyce Vander Molen of Pella and Christy and James A. Van Zee of Pella/ 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Johanna (Joe) Honderd of Pella; a sister-in-law, Alberta (Kryn) Struik of Sully; a brother-in-law, William Van Norden of Denver, Colo.; her husband's siblings and spouses: Jacob and Nellie Vander Molen of Pella; Anna and Ralph Corbin of Buena Park, Calif., Rachael and Case Vander Hart of Pella, Martena De Groot, Mabel (Louis) Vander Molen, Leona (William) Vander Molen and Sylvia (Cecil Vander Molen) Langstraat, all of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers: Hubert Struik and Kryn Struik; and two sisters: Wilma Sjaardema and Cornelia (William) Van Norden.
