Harvey Services For Rick Ryke
Funeral services for Rick Ryke, who died Oct. 9 at Griffin nursing center, were held Oct. 12 from Harvey assembly of God church with Rev. Delbert W. Bittner officiating. Burial was in Eureka cemetery.
Casket bearers were Gerrit Ryke, Henry Ryke, Jake Slater, Engle Visser, John Visser and Boyd Morgan. Mrs. Stanley Laughlin, pianist, accompanied Rev. Bittner, soloist. Flower committee was Mrs. Jean Visser and Mrs. Fern Hegwood.
Rick, son of Jahaies and Peternilla Ryke, was born July 5, 1883 in Mahaska county. He was married to Sylvia Hegwood on Oct. 5, 1945. He spent his life farming in the Pella and Harvey areas.
Survivors include his wife Sylvia, one stepson, Chalmer Hegwood of Newton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
