Funeral services for Beverly Rozenboom, 59, of Pella were held August 26, at the Chapel of the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella, the Rev. Kenneth A. Dykstra officiating and Mr. Scott McIntyre, remembrances. Music was provided by organist Janice Klein and soloist Tom Winegar.

Interment was at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casket bearers were James Rozenboom, Melvin Winegar, Ruth Roorda, Doug Roorda, Curtis Winegar and Craig Winegar.

Beverly Ann Winegar was born April 9, 1943 at Mitchellville, Iowa on the homeplace of her parents, Gilford Robert and Jane Klein Winegar. Beverly was the second of their four children, her older sister, Marilyn Joan, was fatally burned in an explosion that same year. In 1945 her parents moved to Pella where her father began working as a mechanic. Beverly received her education in the Pella Community Schools. She graduated from Webster Grade School and Pella High School with the class of 1961.

That same year, Beverly was united in marriage with Virgil Duane Rozenboom. To this union three children were born: Ronald Duane on May 19, 1962, Carrie Jane on February 7, 1964 and Daniel G. on April 14, 1971. The family first lived on a farm north of Pella where they farmed. Later they moved into Pella.

On August 19, 1981 her son, Dannie, was fatally wounded in an accidental shooting accident at the age of 10 years. Following his tragic death, Beverly did cleaning at Central College and worked for Schiebout Tire Company. She then began working at the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella. It was while employed there that she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Bev later began working at the Marion County Care Facility where she was employed for four years. In April of 2001 she had to take disability because of the effects of a stroke. Then in June of 2002, Bev was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

Since that time she had been hospitalized and passed away Thursday morning, August 22, 2002 at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella. She attained the age of just 59 years, 4 months and 13 days.

Beverly was baptized at the Prairie City Reformed Church in Prairie City and made profession of her faith at the First Reformed Church in Pella. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who was always there for them. Bev was a good friend to many and member of the "Tuesday Nighters" card club.

She enjoyed talking, feeding squirrels, bird watching and taking care of her dog, Lucky.

She is survived by her two children: Ron Rozenboom and his wife, Audri of Pella; Carrie and her husband, Scott McIntyre of Altoona, and four grandchildren; her father, Gilford Winegar of Pella; her brother, Melvin William Winegar and his wife, Linda of Oskaloosa; her sister, Ruth Elaine and her husband, Doug Roorda of Pella; three nephews and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dannie; her mother, Jane Klein Winegar who passed away on June 19,1998 and her sister, Marilyn Winegar.

Arrangements were handled by Van Dyk - Duven Funeral Home in Pella.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Pella Comfort House.
