Memorial services for James A. Wisse, 94, of Pella, who died Jan.15 were held Jan. 18, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. Rev. John McNabb officiated the service.

Interment was held Jan. 19, at the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

James Wisse, son of John and Elizabeth (Runyan) Wisse, was born October 24, 1909, in Pella.

On August 18, 1942, James was united in marriage to Viretta Van Zante in Omaha.

James and Viretta made their lifetime home in Pella. James received his early education in the Pella Public Schools and attended Milwaukee School of Engineering. For nearly sixty years he was the Superintendent of Transmission for the Pella Electrical Plant, retiring in 1990. He helped install some of the first electrical units in Pella.

He is survived by his wife and one brother, Art, of Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph.

Memorials may be made to the Door of Faith Mission.

Funeral arrangments were handled by Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
