Funeral services for Myrtle Van Dyke, 96, of Pella, who died Feb. 29, were held March 4, at the Open Bible Church in Pella. Rev. Aaron Loree officiated the service. Joann Pfadenhauer was organist. Amy Vander Werf Terpstra was the vocalist and Ross Vander accompanist.

Interment was at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casket Bearers were her grandchildren Dan Houser, Duane Houser, Denise Johnson, Debbie Witham, Brad Van Dyke, and Brian Van Dyke.

Mrytle Moline Koopmans, daughter of Dick and Anna Jane Feather Koopmans, was born September 5, 1907, on a farm between Cordova and Highway 14.

On February 20, 1929, Mrytle married William Van Dyke in the Third Reformed Church parsonage. To this union two children were born, Norma Jean and Roy Glen. Her husband, William, passed away February 22, 1982. Myrtle was a charter member of the Open Bible Church. She was very active in the church as secretary/treasurer, deaconess, Sunday School teacher, and pianist.

In January 2002 she moved to the Long Term Care Unit of the Pella Regional Health Center where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Norma and Bob Houser of Pella and Roy and Barbara Van Dyke of Littleton, Col.; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Alice Schultz of Des Moines; and a special "daughter," Sandra Allgood of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Harry and Paul Koopmans; and three sisters, Erma Vander Werf, Grace Aalbers, and Alice Hoeksema.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Pella.

Arrangements were made by Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
