Funeral services for Everett M. "Shy" Garr, 31, of Oskaloosa who died Feb. 25 were held Feb. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Pella. Rev. John McNabb officiated the service. Special music was provided by his daughter Kaela.

Casket Bearers were Richard Fletcher, Chris Brownl, Billie Hopkins III, Bruce Hopkins, Deal Keasling, and Evan Thomas. Everett's Body will be cremated following the funeral service.

Everett Garr, son of Delbert and Rosalie (Rhatigan) Garr, was born August 22, 1972, in Albia.

On June 8, 2002, he was united in marriage to Kori Van Hulzen at the First Baptist Church in Pella.

Everett enjoyed cars, derbys, NASCAR and spending time with his children. He was currently employed as a tank washer with Food Liner in Eddyville. Previously he worked for Winbco Tank in Ottumwa.

He is survived by his parents, Delbert Garr and Rosalie Rhatigan; his wife, Kori "Kitty"; one son, Kyler; three daughters, Kaela, Kylena, Kadence and an unborn child due in August 22, 2004; three sisters and their husbands, Brenda and Bill Hopkins of Blakesburg, Betty and Richard Pilcher of Ottumwa, and Michelle Meyer of Ottumwa; his grandparents, Raymond and Betty Jones of Albia, Alice Garr of Ottumwa, and an adopted grandmother, Frances Ritter of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Everett Myrl Garr.

Memorials may be made to the Garr Family Memorial c/o Kori Garr, 902 S. 5th Street Oskaloosa, Iowa, 52577.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
