Funeral services for Antonette Zickel, 96 of Pella, who passed away Sept. 20, were held Sept. 25 at First Reformed Church in Pella. The Rev. Ray Tilstra offficiated and Barb Nunnikhoven was the pianist.

Interment was held at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casket bearers were Daniel Zickel, David Zickel, Loren Kreykes, Jimmie Fisk, Alan Naaktgeboren, and Dan Shakespeare.

Antonette Marie Naaktgeboren was born on February 25, 1907 to C.J. (Case) and Wilhelmina Simones Naaktgeboren, Antonette and her 12 siblings grew up in Pella where she attended grade school. On December 22, 1926 she was united in marriage with Guy Otis Zickel at Pella and to this union six children were born: Carroll Ray, Norman Guy, Willa Maxine, Derald Glen, Beverly Louise and Linda Sue.

Following their marriage, Antonette and Guy lived near Galesburg, They then moved into Pella where they continued to live the remainder of their married life. In addition to being a homemaker, Antonette worked in the creamery on the site where her father had worked for the Garden City Feeder Works, was employed at the Canning Factory and did house work for several families. She then became a cook at the Pella Coffee Shop in 1954. Guy was employed for the City of Pella when he passed away on December 23, 1972. Following his death, Antonette moved to Prairie Village where she resided until becoming a resident at Hilltop Manor South in 1994. Antonette was a member of the First Reformed Church in Pella. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Carroll and Phyllis Zickel of Pella; Norman and Arlene Zickel of Wellsville, Kans.; Willa and Bill Hart of Pella; Derald Zickel of Pella; Dean Vos of Bussey; and Linda Fisk of Pella; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

As a sister, "Net" leaves Antonia (Carroll) Snow of Knoxville; and Johannes (John) Frederick Naaktgeboren and his wife, Dixie of Oakhurst, Calif.; and her sisters-in-law: Clara (Cornie) Naaktgeboren of Shellsburg; Neva (William) Naaktgeboren of Joshua Tree, Calif.; Alberta (Henry Naaktgeboren) Mitchel of Pella, Donna (Emand) Naaktgeboren of Cedar Rapids; Micki (Fred) Naaktgeboren of Cedar Falls; and Harold Shakespeare of Walford;.

"Net" was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her daughter, Beverly (Dean) Vos; one grandson: Derald Ray Zickel; a grandson-in-law, Terry Owens; and two great-grandsons: Donald Allen Zickel; and Jorey Fisk on June 6, 1994; her parents: Case and Wilhelmina Naaktgeboren; her four siblings who died at an early age and the following brothers and sisters: Martin Naaktgeboren, Minnie Worrall, Cornelius (Cornie), Wilhelm (William), Hendrick (Henry) Naaktgeboren, Eamond Cornelius and Frederick(Fred) Naaktgeboren and Theresa Shakespeare. For those desiring, memorials may be designated for the American Lung Association.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.
