A memorial service for Mabel A. Vos, 97, who passed away Dec. 16, will be held.

Cremation of her remains has alreday taken place.

Mabel A. Boot, was born Dec. 25, 1905 in Sully, to John J. and Dirkie (Van Zante) Boot. Educated in area schools, she attended Central Academy in Pella following her high school education. On February 3, 1927, she was united in marriage to Lester J. Vos.

She has resided in Ankeny the past four years after having lived in Arizona for many years

Mabel is survived by her six children and their spouses: Donald L. and Vos of Centerville; Dorothy Jean and Elmer Van Der Leest of Rogers, Ariz.;, Luverne V. James of Altoona, Freda Farwell of Des Moines; Antoninette M. Noe of Ankeny;, and Jay C. and Barb Vos of Runnells, 18 grand children, 24 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Edna Van Zee of Prairie City and Ellen Donelson of Iowa City

She is preceeded in death by her parents, John and Dickie Boot; her husband Lester Vos; a son John Vos; two grandsons Patrick Noe and Frank James; a great grand daughter, Ashley Noe; her sister Ruth Haverkamp; and two brothers, David and Raymond Boot.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City is in charge of arrangements.
