Funeral services for Jay Schreiner 58, of Ankeny, who passed away Nov. 20, were held Nov. 24, at the Ankeny Funeral Home. Cremation followed the service.

Jay Schreiner was the son of Warren and Vera Wilson Schreiner, Jay was born in Ames, on July 29. The family moved to Pella in December of 1945. He attended Liberty Corner Country School and graduated from Pella High School with the class of 1964.

He graduated from Iowa State University and served with the Navy following graduation.

Jay retired as a registered Civil Engineer with the City of Ankeny in 1999. He was an avid gardener and loved computers and antique farm equipment.

Jay is survived by his mother Vera, sons Todd Janson Schreiner of Indianapolis Ind. and Steven Marshall Schreiner of Ankeny, and his six brothers Phil, Terry, Bob, Tom, Mike, and Rex Schreiner.

He was preceded in death by his father Warren Schreiner and his grandparents Edward B. and Grace Leuty Schreiner and William L. and Helen Lanning Wilson.
