Funeral services for Peter Rus,77, who passed away Nov. 1, were held Nov. 5 at Phoenix Christian Reformed Church.

Peter Henry Rus was born to Leonard Rus and Elizabeth Van Steenwyk Rus on October 31, 1926 at Pella.

His childhood and young adult life was spent in Pella. He graduated from Pella Christian High school in 1943. Pete coached the Pella Girls Softball team in the early fifties. He married Ruth Kramer on June 21, 1957.

They moved to Phoenix in 1961, and he began work at Charlie C. Jones Battery and Electric and retired there in 1991 after 31 years. Since then he did bookkeeping part time at Rod's Carburetor Repair. He served on the Arizona Christian Retirement and Calvary Rehabilitation Foundation boards and served as deacon at his church at various times.

Peter is survived by wife Ruth, his sisters Kathryn Kallemyn, Bernice Kelderman, and Elizabeth Boender, and a brother Charles Rus, and many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his sister Margaret, and two brothers Germent and Jacob.
