Margaret was born near Sully on September 21, 1916 to Nicholas and Hendrena (Loo) Jansen. The family later moved to Pella in 1921. Margaret attended Pella elementary and high school and later graduated from Central College in 1937. While she attended Central College, she met her future husband, Rev. Lester W. Muller of Dell Rapids, S.D. After Lester graduated from Western Theological Seminary at Holland, Mich. with a divinity degree, they were married in Doustra Chapel located on the campus of Central College on June 26, 1940. They had two daughters, Judith Lois and Ruth Jayne.

Lester and Margaret, along with their daughters, served four pastorates: Forestville Reformed Church, Otley; Hope Reformed Church, Westfield, N.D.; and Ada Reformed Church, Ada, Mich. While serving in Michigan, Lester passed away following heart surgery in 1960.

Margaret and her two daughters moved to Pella in 1961. After returning to Pella, Margaret worked in the Controllers office of Central College for nearly ten years. She later worked as Hostess and Cashier at Central Park CafeŽ in Pella.

Margaret was a member of First Reformed Church in Pella for most of her life, excluding the time she was married. She served on the RCWM Board, taught adult Sunday school for many years, sang in the church choir and was a dedicated member of her Women's Circle Group until her health made it impossible to participate in church activities.

Surviving are her two daughters, Judith Lois Muller of Altoona and Ruth Jayne and her husband, Bernies Brom, of Pella.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her parents, Nicholas and Hendrena Jansen; and a brother, Marion Jansen.

Arrangements were handled by the Garden Chapel Funeral Home, Inc. in Pella.

Memorials may be made to First Reformed Church Organ Fund.
