Funeral services for John Edmond Linville, 52, of Pella, who passed away Sept. 5. were held, Sept. 8, at Peace Lutheran Church in Pella. The Rev. Mark Pries, presided with Ralph Van Rheenen assisting . Organist was Brenda Schilling with Val Van Wyk and Deb Hawk as vocalists.

Burial services were held Sept. 9 at the Sandridge Cemetery . Casket Bearers were Paul Klyn, Marvin Van Haaften, Rob Blom, Henry Schutte, Marvin Van Der Wiel, and Chad Brandt.

John Edmond Linville was born April 9, 1951 in Davenport. He was adopted shortly after birth and lived with his adoptive mother until her death in June 1971. John lived with a relative and in foster homes before moving to Knoxville Rest Home. He began attending the day program at the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella.

On Aug. 1, 1985, John moved to the Christian Opportunity Center's Broadway ICF. In October 1994, John was one of the first residents to live at the new Eastview ICF. He attended Friendship Bible Study and testified that Jesus lived in his heart.

John had no known living relatives. Yet, he had a very large family. His family included the residents and staff of the Christian Opportunity Center, the family of Marvin Van Haaften, his guardian and others in the Christian community.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Linville.

Memorials can be made to the Christian Opportunity Center.
